We scheduled the bone marrow harvest. The Emory doctors said we should wait at least six weeks after the last chemo, it turned out to be ten. Jackie had to go over for numerous tests. Blood tests, x-rays, and even a marrow sample was taken. She was so SORE. They told her that it wouldn't hurt much, but the marrow sample really hurt her. It came out of her hip on the back and she had a hard time sitting down and finding a comfortable position. She was nervous.
I had decided that I would just pay for the harvest myself. Although the transplant was very expensive, the harvest was an order of magnitude less and I thought "What are savings for, anyway?", so I used them. The letter turning us down from the HMO had arrived, and my attorney sent them a letter that said,"Are you sure you want us to sue you", but he hadn't gotten a response yet.
