So back to the oncologist we go. He did say that we could do nothing, but he certainly indicated that that was not a good idea. He said we could do some more radiation on this area, as it had never been irradiated before. And of course we could do more chemo.
In finding this node, Jackie had not been sick or feeling bad. She had actually just finished working at summer Girl Scout camp during a record breaking heat wave. She found it as a result of constant checking.
The thought of more chemo didn't appeal to Jackie, and since she wasn't feeling bad we weren't sure what to do. Her doctor therefore suggested that we seek out a second opinion. This was a very important decision. We had of course done exactly that for the first go round, and we saw a great deal of sense in doing it. The problem of course was finding a GOOD second opinion. Jackie liked one of her doctor's partners, but of course that could have made her doctor uncomfortable, so we got a recommendation from her on who to see.
